Renowned Buddhist monk Luang Phor Khoon will produce his final amulet model to mark His Majesty the King's 80th birthday, a close aide said yesterday.

The monk will also present Bt100 million to the King and Queen and other members of the Royal family when they preside over a ceremony to launch the amulet next year, said Pairote Suwannachawee, a former MP.

Luang Phor Khoon is now in Malaysia meeting Buddhists from Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong and Thailand. He will give Bt40 million, donated by his followers since he arrived last week, to charity.

Pairote said Luang Phor Khoon would not give permission for production of amulets to anyone. 'His reverence will not attend any religious ceremonies to bless amulets produced on behalf of any individual or organisation,' he added."
