Hospital charity walks away from kayak trip | NEWS.com.au: "CHARITY has pulled out as the benefactor of a fundraising kayak voyage across the Tasman by two Sydney men, saying it fears for their safety.

News of the charity's decision follows the death of Australian adventurer Andrew McAuley, lost, presumed drowned while trying to kayak solo across the same stretch of ocean.

Sydney school friends James Castrission, 24, and Justin Jones, 23, approached the Sydney Children's Hospital Foundation early last year with an offer to raise money for the hospital."
