Charities hit by corporate stinginess - Business Analysis & Features, Business - The Independent: "ather than compensate for the cuts in public services, companies are reducing their charitable giving. Corporate donations are estimated to have fallen by a fifth since the start of the financial crisis. The future looks bleak, even though the Government is targeting business to increase charitable budgets, especially for the arts.

The Government intends to publish a Green Paper on corporate giving this year. The Culture Secretary, Jeremy Hunt, who plans a series of initiatives aimed at companies, says: 'There is huge scope to strengthen private and corporate support for culture over the next few years.'"
